Pulau vulkanik
Pulau vulkanik atau High island dalam geologi (dan terkadang arkeologi) adalah sebuah pulau yang awalnya adalah merupakan gunung berapi. Istilah tersebut berbeda dengan low island, yang terbentuk dari sedimentasi atau pengangkatan terumbu karang[1] (yang sering kali terbentuk pada gunung-gunung berapi yang tenggelam ke laut).
