Pyralidae, biasa disebut ngengat pyralid,[1] ngengat moncong atau ngengat rumput,[2] adalah famili Lepidoptera dalam superfamili ditrysia Pyraloidea.[3][4] Dalam banyak klasifikasi (terutama yang lebih tua), ngengat rumput (Crambidae) termasuk dalam Pyralidae sebagai subfamili, menjadikan kelompok gabungan tersebut sebagai salah satu famili terbesar di Lepidoptera. Ulasan terbaru oleh Eugene G. Munroe dan Maria Alma Solis mengekalkan Crambidae sebagai famili penuh Pyraloidea.[5]

Bentang sayap untuk spesies berukuran kecil dan sedang biasanya antara 9 dan 37 mm (0,35 dan 1,46 inci) dengan ciri morfologi yang bervariasi.[1][6]

Ngengat ini merupakan kelompok yang beragam, dengan lebih dari 6.000 spesies yang dideskripsikan di seluruh dunia, dan lebih dari 600 spesies di Amerika utara Meksiko, yang merupakan famili ngengat terbesar ketiga di Amerika Utara. Setidaknya 42 spesies telah tercatat dari Dakota Utara di subfamili Pyralidae.[7]
