Lauren Maria "Ren" Harvieu (lahir 3 September 1990) adalah Penyanyi dan Penulis Lagu dari Broughton, Salford, Inggris.
Awal kehidupan dan pendidikan
Ren Harvieu pada mulanya diperkenalkan ke lagu-lagu rakyat Irlandia dan musik tradisional oleh Ibunya. Pada masa remajanya, ia terpengaruh seniman seperti Joni Mitchell dan Joan Baez, serta The Smiths dan Alicia Keys . Sementara pada semester enam di perguruan tinggi, dia tampil dalam teater musikal dan memasuki beberapa kompetisi bakat sebelum mengunggah beberapa rekaman sendiri di MySpace.[1]
Karier
Ren Harvieu ditemukan di MySpace oleh manajer Paul Harrison setelah demo upload lagu, yang telah didengarkan Harrison.[2] Harrison membawa Ren Harvieu ke London untuk memulai pekerjaan studio setelah memperkenalkan Jimmy Hogarth padanya. Dia merilis single "Through The Night" dan tur dengan Glasvegas yang memperkenalkannya kepada khalayak yang lebih luas.[1]

Pada 5 Desember 2011, BBC mengumumkan bahwa ia telah dinominasikan untuk BBC Sounds jajak pendapat mereka pada tahun 2012.[2] Setelah merilis singel "Through The Night" dan "Open Up Your Arms",[5] album pertamanya Through the Night dirilis oleh Island Records pada tanggal 14 Mei 2012, memasuki chart album Inggris di No 5. Ren Harvieu telah bekerja dengan kerja keras termasuk dengan Mark Owen, David McCabe, Ed Harcourt, Howie Payne, Christopher O'Neill, dan Glasvegas.[6]
Pada tahun 2014, Ren Harvieu tampil dalam Sweet Malaise, Sisi-B dari In My Time Of Dust yang merupakan mini-album Ed Harcourt yaitu Time of Dust.[7] Love is a Melody, merupakan lagu yang ditulis oleh Ed Harcourt dan Jimmy Hogarth untuk album debut Ren Harvieu, Through the Night, juga diliput dalam Time of Dust.[8]
Ren Harvieu sekarang sedang membuat album keduanya.[9] Album berjudul Revel in the Drama dirilis pada April 2020.[10]
