Revolusi ilmiah

Revolusi ilmiah adalah masa saat gagasan baru dalam bidang fisika, astronomi, biologi, anatomi manusia, kimia, dan ilmu pengetahuan lain berkembang dengan pesat dan menjadi dasar ilmu pengetahuan modern.[1] Menurut catatan-catatan, revolusi ini dimulai di Eropa dari masa Renaisans hingga akhir abad ke-18, periode yang dikenal sebagai Abad Pencerahan.

Filsuf dan sejarawan Alexandre Koyré menciptakan istilah revolusi ilmiah pada tahun 1939 untuk menjelaskan masa ini.[2]
