Rhea besar atau rhea besar (Rhea americana) adalah sebuah spesies burung tak terbang yang berasal dari Amerika Selatan bagian timur. Nama lainnya untuk spesies ini adalah rhea amerika (ema, dalam bahasa Portugis), rhea umum, dan rhea kelabu. Salah satu dari dua spesies dalam genus Rhea dalam famili Rheidae, mereka tinggal di beragam daerah terbuka, seperti padang rumput, sabana atau lahan basah berumput. Berbobot 20–27 kilogram (44–60 pon), rhea besar adalah burung asli Amerika terbesar. Di alam liar, rhea besar memiliki rentang hidup 10.5 tahun. Juga diketahui bahwa rhea ini memiliki kebiasaan kawin yang unik, dan terdapat populasi yang baru saja terbentuk di Jerman Utara pada tahun-tahun belakangan. Spesies ini tergolong spesies mendekati terancam oleh IUCN.
