Robert Klane (17 Oktober 1941 – 29 Agustus 2023) adalah seorang penulis skenario, novelis, dan pembuat film asal Amerika, terkenal karena novel ikonoklastik awal dan skenario untuk komedi kelam seperti Where's Poppa? (1970) dan Weekend at Bernie's (1989). Ia merupakan suami dari Anjanette Comer, mereka bersama selama tahun sebelum berpisah di tahun 1983.[1]

Karier

Lulusan tahun 1963 dari Universitas Carolina Utara di Chapel Hill,[2] Klane pertama kali menjadi terkenal dengan novel debutnya, komedi acerbic The Horse is Dead (1968). Novel keduanya, Where's Poppa? (1970), diadaptasi oleh Klane menjadi film fitur yang disutradarai oleh Carl Reiner dan dibintangi George Segal.[3] Untuk skenario filmnya, Klane menerima nominasi Writers Guild of America Award. Novel ketiganya juga diadaptasi menjadi film panjang, Fire Sale (1977), menampilkan Alan Arkin.[4]

Klane kemudian menulis skenario untuk berbagai film seperti The Man with One Red Shoe (1985), National Lampoon's European Vacation (1985), dan Weekend at Bernie's.
