Sir Robert Sibbald (15 April 1641 – Agustus 1722) adalah seorang dokter Skotlandia. Ia lahir di Edinburgh dari pasangan David Sibbald (saudara Sir James Sibbald) dan Margaret Boyd. Ia dididik di Royal High School serta Universitas Edinburgh, Universitas Leiden, dan Universitas Paris. Robert Sibbald memperoleh gelar dokter di Universitas Angers pada tahun 1662, dan kemudian menjadi dokter di Edinburgh. Ia menetap di Kastil Kipps di dekat Linlithgow.[1] Pada tahun 1685, ia menjadi profesor kedokteran pertama di Universitas Edinburgh. Ia juga menjadi Geographer Royal pada tahun 1682.
Awalnya paus biru awalnya disebut rorqual Sibbald karena ia adalah orang yang mendeskripsikannya secara ilmiah untuk pertama kalinya. Bunga liar Sibbaldia procumbens juga dinamai darinya.[2]
