Roguelike
Roguelike adalah subgenre permainan video permainan peran yang ditandai oleh dungeon crawl melalui level yang dihasilkan secara prosedural, gameplay berbasis giliran, grafis berbasis ubin, dan karakter pemain kematian permanen. Kebanyakan roguelikes didasarkan pada narasi fantasi tinggi, yang mencerminkan pengaruhnya dari permainan peran di meja seperti Dungeons & Dragons.
Meskipun roguelike Beneath Apple Manor dan Sword of Fargoal mendahului itu, permainan video tahun 1980, Rogue, yang merupakan permainan berbasis ASCII yang berjalan di terminal atau terminal emulator, dianggap sebagai pelopor dan senama genre, dengan permainan turunan yang mencerminkan karakter Rogue atau grafis berbasis sprite.
