Rumah bandar

Rumah bandar (bahasa Inggris: townhouse) adalah kompleks kecil yang berisi rumah-rumah yang dibangun secara teratur. Rumah bandar biasanya memiliki sistem tertutup (cluster), dilengkapi dengan fasilitas bersama seperti kolam renang, ruang terbuka, dll, serta memiliki sistem keamanan yang lebih baik daripada perumahan pada umumnya.
Sejarah
Secara historis, rumah bandar adalah tempat tinggal keluarga bangsawan atau kaya di suatu kota, yang terdiri satu atau lebih rumah tempat mereka untuk tinggal hampir sepanjang tahun. Sejak abad ke-18, sang pemilik tanah dan para pembantunya akan menempati rumah bandar selama musim sosial (ketika pesta riung besar diadakan).[1]
