Di dirikan pada tahun 2009 sebagai kelanjutan dari SD Putra Batam, SMP Putra Batam, merupakan salah satu Sekolah Menengah Pertama swasta yang ada di, Batam, Provinsi Kepulauan Riau. Sama dengan SMP pada umumnya di Indonesia masa pendidikan sekolah di SMP Putra Batam ditempuh dalam waktu tiga tahun pelajaran, mulai dari Kelas VII sampai Kelas IX. Sekolah ini merupakan satu dari tidak banyak sekolah yang di Batuaji yang menerapkan kurikulum nasional plus (kurikulum nasional yang ditambah dengan kurikulum luar) dengan pengajaran tiga bahasa yaitu Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Mandarin.
