Koyo Salonpas

Salonpas adalah merek dari obat bebas (OTC) sebagai produk pereda rasa nyeri yang diproduksi oleh Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical dari Kota Tosu, Jepang. Diperkenalkan ke pasar Jepang pada tahun 1934,[1] Salonpas sekarang dijual di lebih dari lima puluh negara.[2] Pasar terbesar untuk produk tersebut adalah Jepang dan negara Asia lainnya seperti Indonesia, Vietnam, Filipina, Malaysia dan Taiwan. Menurut Hisamitsu, sekitar 20 miliar plester transdermal Salonpas telah terjual dalam 20 tahun terakhir.[3]

Produk serupa dipasarkan oleh perusahaan lain, termasuk Absorbine Jr. Pain Relief, Excedrin Cooling Pads, dan Icy Hot Patch.[4]

Pada tahun 2008, produk Salonpas Pain Relief Patch dan Salonpas Arthritis Pain disetujui sebagai plester analgesik topikal OTC pertama (dan satu-satunya) oleh Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (FDA) Amerika Serikat.[5]
