Sanbenito


Sanbenito (sambenito dalam bahasa Spanyol,[1][2] gramalleta atau sambenet dalam bahasa Catalan) adalah topi berbentuk kerucut yang digunakan sebagai sebuah bentuk hukuman terutama ketika masa Inkuisisi Spanyol. Topi ini disertai dengan garmen mirip skapulir, dengan dekorasi salib Andreas untuk menghukum penganut ajaran sesat atau dengan dekorasi berupa naga, iblis, dan bruder. Kostum ini digunakan oleh penerima hukuman ketika menerima ritual auto da fé pada masa Inkuisisi Spanyol karena telah melakukan ajaran sesat.[3]
