Sejarah
Ottaway Community Newspapers, divisi Perusahaan Dow Jones & Company membeli perusahaan koran ini tahun 1982 dari keluarga McPherson. Pada akhir 2006, perusahaan koran ini dibeli oleh Community Newspaper Holdings, tetapi menjualnya pada 2 Februari 2007 kepada Media News Group. Media News Group kemudian membentuk Digital First Media tahun 2013, ketika perusahaan ini bergabung dengan Journal Register Company.[3][4] Saat ini, kantor Santa Cruz Sentinel berada di Scotts Valley, dengan reporter yang bertugas untuk meliput berbagai berita.[2]
