SycllaDB merupakan basis data NoSQL terdistribusi yang berbasis wide-column dan bersifat sumber terbuka. Ia didesain agar kompatibel dengan Apache Cassandra sekaligus mencapai throughput yang lebih tinggi dan latensi yang lebih rendah. Seperti halnya Apache Cassandra, SycllaDB memutuskan kumpulan replika untuk setiap partisi menggunakan VNode.[1]
