Sekop

Seorang pria membawa sekop

Sekop adalah alat untuk menggali, mengangkat, dan memindahkan material curah seperti pasir, tanah, batu kecil, bijih, salju, dan benda kecil lainnya. Sekop biasanya digunakan untuk orang-orang misalnya seperti berkebun, membangun jalanan transportasi, dll.[1]

Sekop zaman sekarang biasanya dibuat oleh besi, plastik dan kayu supaya daya tahan shovel lebih tahan dan mudah mengangkat benda-benda berukuran sedang seperti batu. Zaman Neolitikum dan zaman sebelumnya orang-orang Romawi membuat sekop yang hanya terbuat oleh bahan yang biasa misalnya; terbuat oleh bahan kayu, batu, dan kulit sapi (bahan untuk memegang sekopnya) saja.
