Sensor diri

Sensor diri adalah sebuah bentuk tindakan untuk melakukan penyensoran atau merahasiakan suatu perihal tertentu yang tidak hanya dilakukan untuk sensor, namun juga untuk proses penyuntingan.[1] Tindakan ini sangat penting dalam industri perfilman, jurnalisme, dan berbagai industri untuk konsumsi publik. Sensor diri sangat identik dalam kontek jurnalisme, terutama untuk para wartawan dalam penulisan dan penyampaian berita.[1]

Sejarah

Tindakan penyensoran telah dimulai pada era industri perfilman hitam-putih. Pada tahun 1922, Asosiasi Produksi dan Distribusi Film Amerika merilis sebuah aturan yang bernama "Aturan Hays" sebagai standar untuk mengatur objek dan materi yang diizinkan untuk disebarkan di dalam film.[2]
