Symphysanodon, juga dikenal sebagai seratu, (bahasa Inggris : slopefish) adalah genus ikan laut kecil. Sebagian besar ditemukan di Indo-Pasifik, tetapi tiga spesies, S. berryi, S. mona, dan S. octoactinus, ditemukan di Atlantik Barat. [1] Mereka ditemukan di terumbu berbatu pada kedalaman 50–700 m (160–2.300 ft). Secara tradisional, genus ini adalah satu-satunya anggota keluarga Symphysanodontidae, [1] tetapi pada tahun 2017 spesies baru, C. aureolateralis, ditempatkan dalam genusnya sendiri Cymatognathus. [2]

Keterangan

Spesies Symphysanodon terbesar bisa mencapai 20 cm (7,9 in) panjangnya. Tubuh mereka ramping dan padat, dengan moncong tumpul. Warnanya merah, merah muda, oranye atau kuning. Sirip ekor biasanya bercabang dua. Sirip punggung memiliki 9 duri punggung dan 10 jari lunak, sedangkan sirip dubur memiliki tiga duri anal dan tujuh atau delapan jari lunak.
