Biografi

Lee lahir pada tahun 1859 di Solomon Lazarus Lee, di 12 Keppel Street, Bloomsbury, London . Ia bersekolah di City of London School dan melanjutkan di Balliol College, Oxford. Pada tahun 1882, ia lulus dari Sejarah Modern. Setahun kemudian, Lee menjadi asisten editor Kamus Biografi Nasional .
