Sluis

Sebuah pintu sluis

Sluis (/slus/) adalah saluran air yang dikontrol oleh pintu air di kedua sisinya. Pintu sluis diletakkan di saluran air untuk mengatur aliran dan ketinggian air di saluran tersebut.[1] Pintu sluis sederhana dibuat dengan bahan kayu atau logam dan dipasangkan pada bingkai di pinggir sungai atau kanal. Sluis umumnya digunakan pada saluran irigasi, pengelolaan air limbah, tambang, dan kilang tenaga air.
