Solnitsata (bahasa Bulgaria: Солницата, "Penghasil garam") adalah sebuah kota kuno yang terletak di dekat kota Provadia, Bulgaria sekarang. Para arkeolog Bulgaria yakin bahwa kota ini merupakan kota tertua di Eropa yang berusia paling tidak 6 milenia, Solnitsata dulunya adalah tempat produksi garam yang terkenal sekitar 4.700–4.200 SM.[1][2] Kota ini merupakan kota berkubu yang dikelilingi oleh tembok yang berfungsi untuk melindungi produksi garam yang pada saat itu merupakan barang komoditas yang sangat penting.[3] Meskipun populasinya diperkirakan hanya 350 orang,[3] arkeolog Vassil Nikolov berpendapat bahwa Solnitsata memenuhi kriteria untuk ditetapkan sebagai kota prasejarah.[4]

Produksi garam menggerakkan perekonomian Solnitsata, dan kota ini diyakini telah memasok garam ke seluruh wilayah Balkan. Banyak ditemukan koleksi benda-benda yang terbuat dari emas di situs bekas kota ini, yang menandakan rakyatnya sangat makmur, hasil dari perdagangan garam.[1] Kota ini hancur akibat gempa bumi.[5]
