Sotong atau ikan nus (famili Sepiidae) adalah hewan yang hidup di perairan,[3] khususnya pantai dan laut. Hewan ini tidak dapat ditemukan di semua pantai terutama pantai yang memiliki aliran air tawar hingga payau. Sotong juga merupakan makanan sejenis makanan laut.
Sotong sering kali disalahtafsirkan sebagai cumi-cumi. Keduanya berbeda karena sotong bertubuh pipih, sementara cumi-cumi lebih berbentuk silinder. Selain itu, cangkang dalam sotong tersusun dari kapur yang keras, sedangkan lunak pada cumi-cumi.
Cangkang sotong dapat dimanfaatkan dalam industri pasta gigi dan kosmetik.[3]

Sotong merupakan makanan utama di wilayah Mediterania dan Asia Timur.[butuh rujukan] Tubuh sotong mengandung kalsium dan protein yang melimpah tetapi rendah energi. Makanan yang bahan utamanya sotong merupakan sumber kolesterol. Cangkang dalam sotong biasa digunakan sebagai sumber kalsium bagi burung peliharaan.[butuh rujukan]
