Soyuz 11

Soyuz 11 adalah nama untuk kunjungan pertama Soyuz yang berhasil ke stasiun luar angkasa Salyut 1. Ketiga astronaut yang ada di kabin, Georgi Dobrovolski, Viktor Patsayev dan Vladislav Volkov adalah tokoh-tokoh pertama yang berhasil mencapai stasiun luar angkasa.

Soyuz 11 diluncurkan pada tanggal 6 Juni 1971 dari Kosmodrom Baikonur dan mendarat ke Salyut 1 pada hari berikutnya, 7 Juni 1971 dan berada di stasiun luar angkasa tersebut selama 22 hari. Pada saat kembali tanggal 30 Juni 1971, tim penyembuh membuka kapsul dan menemukan bahwa semua kru sudah meninggal. Jelas bahwa mereka mati lemas. Kesalahan pun dilacak ke katup ventilasi pernapasan, yang terletak antara modul orbit dan modul menurun, yang telah terguncang-guncang karena modul menurunnya terpisah dari modul dinas.

Para kosmonaut itu diberikan upacara pemakaman negara dan dimakamkan di Nekropolis Dinding Kremlin, Lapangan Merah, Moskow, dekat jasad Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin. Setelah itu wahana antariksa Soyuz dirancang kembali untuk hanya membawa 2 kosmonaut.
