Speothos ialah satu genus canid yang dijumpai di Amerika Tengah dan Amerika Selatan. Genus ini mencakup mbetapa, Speothos venaticus, yang masih hidup, serta satu spesies Pleistosen yang telah punah, Speothos pacivorus. Spesies fosil ini dikenal pasti lebih awal daripada spesies hidupnya. Hal ini membuat spesies tipe dari genus ini adalah S. pacivorus.
