Stenotaphrum adalah genus tumbuhan yang tersebar luas dalam keluarga rumput (Poaceae).
Nama ini berasal dari kata dalam bahasa Yunani stenós (στενός), yang berarti "sempit", dan táphros (τάφρος), yang berarti "parit". Nama ini merujuk pada rongga-rongga yang terdapat pada sumbu tandan (rakis).[3][4]
