Stephen Earl Wilhite[2] (3 Maret 1948 – 14 Maret 2022) adalah seorang peneliti di bidang ilmu komputer yang bekerja di CompuServe dan seorang ilmuwan yang menemukan format gambar GIF pada tahun 1987. GIF menjadi standar untuk gambar 8-bit berwarna di Internet hingga PNG (1996) menjadi alternatif.[3]
