Strontium 90

Strontium 90 adalah nama sebuah band Inggris yang berumur pendek tahun 1977 dengan anggota Mike Howlett (bass, vokal), Sting (bass, vokal), Stewart Copeland (drum), dan Andy Summers (gitar). Band ini merupakan cikal bakal dari trio The Police.

Stronsium 90 dibentuk pada pertengahan 1977 oleh Howlett setelah dia berhenti dari Gong dan merekrut Sting serta Summers untuk berpartisipasi dalam sebuah proyek baru. Chris Cutler tidak bersedia untuk bermain drum, sehingga Sting mengajak Copeland, mereka kemudian bermain bersama yang menjadi awal mula pembentukan The Police.

Stronsium 90 merekam beberapa lagu demo di Virtual Earth Studios, dan kemudian memainkannya pada konser reuni Gong di Paris pada 28 Mei 1977.[1] Sebuah album dengan beberapa lagu studio dan live dirilis pada tahun 1997 dengan nama "Stronsium 90:. Police Academy". Mereka berempat juga memainkannya di sebuah klab di London sebagai "The Elevators" pada bulan Juli 1977.[2]
