Suku Dhao (Dhèu Dhao) adalah kelompok etnis yang berasal dari Pulau Ndao di Nusa Tenggara Timur. Walaupun letak geografis persebarannya lebih dekat dengan suku Rote, secara linguistik, suku ini lebih memiliki kedekatan hubungan dengan suku Sabu dan lebih jauh lagi dengan suku Sumba.[1]
Bahasa
Orang Dhao yang kontemporer ditandai dengan kemampuan multibahasa, di mana kebanyakan dari mereka bisa berbicara lebih dari dua bahasa. Mereka dapat berbicara setidaknya bahasa Dhao, Melayu Kupang, Indonesia, dan Rote.[2]
