Typhlonectidae, atau yang juga dikenal sebagai sesilia air atau belut karet, adalah sebuah famili sesilia yang ditemukan di timur Andes di Amerika Selatan.[1]

Mereka adalah hewan vivipar, melahirkan anakan yang memiliki insang eksternal. Dari kelima genera hidup di famili ini, Atretochoana, Potamotyphlus dan Typhlonectes sepenuhnya hidup di air, sementara Chthonerpeton dan Nectocaecilia semi akuatik.[1] Atretochoana mencapai panjang 100 cm (39 in), tetapi spesies lainnya pada famili ini panjangnya berkisar dari 20 hingga 60 cm (7,9–23,6 in).[1] Satu genus lainnya dari famili ini Ymboirana, baru-baru ini dideskripsikan dan hanya diketahui dari bukti fosil.[2]
