Universitas Rochester

Universitas Rochester (yang umumnya disebut sebagai U of R atau UR) adalah sebuah universitas riset, nonsektarian dan swasta di Rochester, New York.[6] Universitas tersebut memberikan gelar kelulusan dan pasca-kelulusan, termasuk doktoral dan gelar profesional. Universitas tersebut memiliki enam sekolah dan berbagai program antar-disipliner.

Universitas Rochester utamanya dikenal karena Eastman School of Music-nya. Universitas tersebut juga merupakan rumah dari Institute of Optics, yang didirikan pada 1929, program pendidikan pertama di AS yang dikhususkan untuk optik.[7][8] Laboratory for Laser Energetics di Rochester merupakan rumah dari laser fusion paling berenergetik kedua di dunia.[9]
