Utara sejati

Utara sejati (juga disebut Geodesi utara) adalah arah di sepanjang permukaan Bumi ke arah geografis Kutub Utara atau Kutub Utara Sejati.

Geodesi utara berbeda dari magnetik utara (arah jarum kompas menunjuk Kutub Utara Magnetik), dan dari grid north (arah utara sepanjang garis kisi proyeksi peta). Geodesi utara sejati juga sedikit berbeda dengan utara sejati secara astronomi (biasanya disebabkan oleh beberapa arcsecond) karena gravitasi lokal dapat menyebabkan tidak menunjuk poros rotasi Bumi dengan tepat.

Pada Februari 2100 nanti, Polaris akan berada pada posisi yang terdekat dengan kutub utara selestial (diekstrapolasi dari presesi Bumi saat ini).[1][2][3]
