Vakum
Hampa udara atau vakum merujuk kepada volume ruang yang pada dasarnya kosong dari materi, sehinggakan tekanan udaranya lebih rendah berbanding tekanan atmosfer.[1] Istilah ini berasal dari kata Latin vacuus yang bermaksud kosong. Bahkan dengan mengesampingkan kerumitan keadaan hampa udara, pengertian klasik mengenai hampa udara sempurna adalah tekanan gas yang persis nol, tetapi ini hanyalah sebuah konsep teoretis dan tidak pernah diamati dalam praktiknya.
