Vanguard 2 atau Vanguard II adalah sebuah satelit pengorbit bumi yang diluncurkan pada 17 Februari 1959 menggunakan sebuah roket Vanguard SLV 4 sebagai bagian dari United States Navy's Project Vanguard.[3] Satelit ini dirancang untuk mengukur distribusi lapisan awan atas pada siang dari orbitnya selama 19 hari dan untuk memberikan informasi tentang kepadatan atmosfer selama masa orbitnya (~ 300 tahun).

Pada April 4, 2012, Vanguard 2 masih terdeteksi di orbit Bumi.[2]
