Verba volant, scripta manent
Verba volant, scripta manent adalah sebuah peribahasa dalam bahasa Latin. Secara harfiah peribahasa ini berarti "Kata-kata lisan terbang, sementara tulisan menetap." Peribahasa ini berusaha mengatakan bahwa kata-kata lisan dapat dilupakan dengan mudah, tetapi tulisan-tulisan akan tetap ada.
Peribahasa ini tampaknya merupakan peribahasa lama yang dikutip dalam pidato Kaisar Titus di hadapan Senat Romawi.[1]
