Windows Essentials (sebelumnya Windows Live Essentials dan Windows Live Installer) adalah paket aplikasi perangkat lunak gratis dari Microsoft yang menawarkan layanan surel, pesan instan, berbagi foto, penerbitan blog, dan keamanan yang terintegrasi. Program-program Essentials dirancang untuk mudah terintegrasi satu sama lain, dengan Microsoft Windows, dan dengan layanan berbasis web Microsoft lain seperti SkyDrive (sekarang OneDrive) dan Outlook, sehingga semuanya bisa beroperasi dengan "mulus”.[1][2]

Software Windows Essentials dapat diinstal di Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008 SP2 atau Windows Server 2008 R2. Versi-versi sebelumnya juga tersedia di Windows XP dan Windows Vista.
