Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG, bahasa Indonesia: Emas Zimbabwe) adalah mata uang resmi Zimbabwe yang menjadi alat pembayaran yang sah sejak tanggal 8 April 2024,[1] didukung oleh aset senilai US$575 juta. Ini akan memiliki nilai tukar awal 13,56 ZiG per dolar AS.[2][3][4] Mata uang ini akan menggantikan dolar Zimbabwe, yang mengalami devaluasi tajam, dengan nilai tukar resmi melampaui 30.000 dolar Zimbabwe per dolar AS.

Sejarah

Token ZiG awalnya diperkenalkan pada 5 Oktober 2023 sebagai mata uang digital yang terkait dengan emas.[5] Nilai satu unit ZiG didefinisikan sebagai satu miligram emas dengan kehalusan 99%.[6]

Denominasi

Uang Kertas Zimbabwe Gold akan diperkenalkan dalam delapan pecahan: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 dan 200 ZiG.[3]
