ZooKeys adalah sebuah jurnal ilmiah akses terbuka mitra bestari yang mencakup bidang taksonomi, filogeni, dan biogeografi zoologi. Jurnal ini didirikan pada tahun 2008 dan pendiri sekaligus pemimpin redaksi pertamanya adalah Terry Erwin (Institusi Smithsonian) hingga wafatnya pada tahun 2020.[2] Pada bulan Desember 2023, Torsten Dikow diangkat sebagai pemimpin redaksi yang baru.[3] Jurnal ini diterbitkan oleh Pensoft Publishers.[4]

ZooKeys menyediakan semua data taksa baru ke Encyclopedia of Life pada hari yang sama dengan tanggal penerbitannya.[5]

Pengabstrakan dan pengindeksan

Artikel-artikel yang diterbitkan dalam jurnal ini diindeks di sejumlah besar repositori. Konten jurnal ini diarsipkan di PubMed Central, CLOCKSS,[6] Zenodo, Portico,[7] Europe PMC, dan Zendy,[8] serta diindeks oleh banyak pengindeks terkemuka di industri. Daftar lengkap pengindeks dapat ditemukan di beranda jurnal.[9] Skor Scopus tahun 2024 untuk ZooKeys telah dirilis dengan nilai sebesar 2,5.[10]

ZooKeys mengizinkan penulis untuk menerbitkan pracetak (preprint) manuskrip mereka di ARPHA Preprints [11] atau peladen pracetak lainnya.

Kebijakan peninjauan

Artikel ilmiah yang dikirimkan untuk diterbitkan dalam jurnal ini menjalani proses tinjauan samar tunggal (single-blind review). Dalam proses peninjauan ini, penulis yang mengirimkan artikel penelitiannya tidak mengetahui identitas peninjau mereka, meskipun peninjau dapat memilih untuk mengungkap identitasnya jika diinginkan. Dua pakar independen meninjau setiap artikel, dan keputusan akhir penerbitan dibuat oleh Pemimpin Redaksi.[12]

Kebijakan penggunaan AI

Aturan platform mengenai alat kecerdasan buatan/AI seperti ChatGPT adalah bahwa penulis harus mengungkapkan bagaimana alat tersebut digunakan.[12]
