Zygentoma adalah sebuah ordo pada kelas Insecta, dan mencakup sekitar 550 spesies yang telah diketahui.[1] Zygentoma mencakup gegat dan gegat api. Ciri gamblang pada ordo ini adalah tiga filamen kaudal yang panjang. Dua filamen lateralnya adalah serkus (cercus), sementara yang ditengah adalah epiproktus atau appendix dorsalis. Dengan ini mereka mirip dengan anggota kelompok Archaeognatha, meski serkus pada Zygentoma tidak sepanjang epiproktus seperti pada Archaeognatha.[2]
