Circin

Den omtrentlige placering af Circin i Skotland.

Circin var et piktisk område, der er omtalt i samtidige kilder mellem 500- og 800-tallet,[1] beliggende nord for Firth of Tay og syd for Grampian Mountains i det nuværende Skotland.[2] Det forbindes med den nominative pluralisform Cirig, navnet på en af de mytiske grundlæggere af piktiske områder, som nævnes i oprindelsesmyte om pikterne Seven Children of Cruithne fra 800-tallet .[3]

Circin er det næstmest hyppigt attesterede piktiske område i samtidige historiske kilder, efter det dominerende kongerige Fortriu,[4] men omtales ikke selv i nogen kilde som et kongerige.[5]
