Faranah (N’ko: ߝߙߊߣߊ߫߫) er en by og et underpræfektur i det centrale Guinea, der ligger ved Nigerfloden. I 2014 havde den en befolkning på 60.449 mennesker.[1] Byen er hovedsageligt beboet af Mandinkaer.

Historie

Guines første præsident, Sékou Touré blev født i det, der dengang var en landsby. Efter at være blevet præsident udviklede han den med en moské, et palads og et konferencecenter. Den ligger umiddelbart sydvest for Haut Niger Nationalpark. Byen betjenes af Faranah Lufthavn.

Klima

Faranah har et tropisk savanneklima, Aw efter Köppens klimaklassifikation.[2]
