Sir Michael James Lighthill, FRS FRAeS [5] (født 23. januar 1924, død 17. juli 1998) var en britisk anvendt matematiker, der var kendt for sit pionerarbejde inden for aeroakustik.[6][7][8][9][10]

Han nåede at modtage en række hædersbevisninger for sit arbejde i løbet af karrieren, heriblandt Royal Medal i 1964 og Copleymedaljen i 1998.
