The 2023–24FC Schalke 04 season is the 120th season in the football and their seventh season in the 2. Bundesliga, where they were relegated from the Bundesliga the previous season. In addition to the domestic league, Schalke also participates in this season's edition of the domestic cup, the DFB-Pokal. This is the 23rd season for Schalke in the Veltins-Arena, located in Gelsenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The season covers a period from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024. Schalke 04 drew an average home attendance of 61,388 in 17 home games in the 2023–24 league season.

Note: The match was originally scheduled to be played on 4 May 2024, but was postponed and removed to Hamburg due to structural defects in the roof of Stadion an der Bremer Brücke in Osnabrück.[30] It was played behind closed doors.
