The Bangladesh Physics Olympiad (BdPhO) is an annual competition for young physicists in Bangladesh, which was founded in 2011.[1] The competition aims to nurture young talent and foster a strong scientific community in the country, helping to position Bangladesh as a global leader in science and technology. In 2024 for the 14th time its latest contest took place.[2][3] Team selectionThe competition culminates in the selection of a national team to represent Bangladesh at the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO).The Bangladesh Physics Olympiad (BdPhO) is a multi-stage competition designed to identify and nurture talented young physicists in Bangladesh. Here's a general overview of the selection process: Preliminary Round:* Open to all interested students. * Typically consists of a written exam covering fundamental physics concepts. * Top-performing students from this round advance to the next stage. Regional Round:* Held at designated centers across the country. * Involves a more challenging written exam, often with theoretical and problem-solving questions. * Successful participants move on to the national level. National Round:* The most competitive stage, involving a rigorous written exam and potentially interviews. * Top performers from this round are selected for the training camp. Trainings Camp:* An intensive training program for the selected students. * Involves theoretical lectures, problem-solving sessions, and mock exams. * The training camp helps prepare students for international competitions. International Competitions:* The ultimate goal for the top students. * Bangladesh sends teams to prestigious international competitions like the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) and the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO).
