In 1702, Guru Gobind Singh visited Kurukshetra, Jyotisar, Pahoe, Kare, Sayana, Chamkaur and some other villages before returning to Anandpur Sahib.[citation needed] The First Battle of Chamkaur occurred and a Mughal force with Hill Raja assistance were defeated. They suffered heavy casualties compared to the Sikhs.[1] The next year, Anandpur was attacked by the Hill Rajas again.
Battle
Ajmer Chand of Bilaspur attacked the Sikhs in Anandpur in 1703. This time he was assisted by Raja Bhup Chand of Handur, Raja Wazir Singh of Chamba and Raja Dev Saran of Fatehpur. [2] The Sikhs met the forces outside of the town. A fierce and hard fought battle occurred and as a result the Hill Rajas again fell back and dispersed. .[1]
