Benoît François Dominique Schwarz-van Berkel (né Schwarz; born 19 August 1991) is a Swiss curler.[1] He currently throws fourth stones for skip Yannick Schwaller. He won a gold medal with the Swiss team at the 2013 European Curling Championships in Stavanger and a bronze medal at the 2014 World Men's Curling Championship in Beijing. He competed at the 2012 and 2013 World Curling Championships, and at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi as an alternate.[2]
Schwarz-van Berkel earned bronze medals at the 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2023 World Men's Curling Championship.[3] He was part of the bronze medal winning Swiss team at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
Personal life
Schwarz-van Berkel is married to Swiss swimmer, Martina van Berkel,[citation needed] and as of 2023 he was a business administration student.[4] He currently works for Swiss International Air Lines as a Network Planning Manager.[citation needed] He lives in Zürich.[4]
