Charles W. Hatcher (born June 1958)[1] is an American dairy farmer who is the Republican Party nominee for Tennessee's 5th congressional district in the 2026 general election.[2] He defeated incumbent U.S. representative Andy Ogles in the Republican primary in an upset race. He previously served as the commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Agriculture from 2019 to 2025.[3][4]
Hatcher graduated with a Bachelor of Science in animal science from Middle Tennessee State University in 1980, and as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1984.[5][6]
