Dominique (Lil Baby album)
Dominique is scheduled to be the fifth studio album by American rapper Lil Baby, released through Quality Control Music, Motown, Glass Window Entertainment, and Wolfpack in February 2025. The album will serve as a follow-up to his fourth album, WHAM, released in January of the same year. Background and recordingUpon the release of WHAM Jones appeared in a cover story interview with Complex in which he spoke about the two albums.[1] During the interview, he revealed that the record will have "more of a grown sound" in comparison to WHAM, and that the record will show more of Baby's "emotional and more vulnerable side ". When asked directly about the record, Baby said:[1]
When asked about the reasoning behind dropping a self-titled album directly after WHAM, he revealed that he was "initially was going [to drop] the self-titled album [first]", however, he wanted to wait as it would be a drastic jump for him to switch from his Lil Baby persona to his true self of Dominique Jones:[1]
Release and promotionDuring the rollout of his previous album, WHAM, in December 2024, Baby appeared on Lil Yachty's A Safe Place podcast, during which he revealed that he planned to drop two albums in 2025: "At first, I was telling people I was going to drop a double album. Now, I’m dropping the WHAM album and Dominique album".[2] After WHAM debuted number 1 on the Billboard 200, Baby took to his Instagram to announce that Dominique would be released in the following month.[3] References
