Akram Mohammed Al-Sarray (Arabic: أكرم محمد السراي; born 28 April 2002) is an Iraqi visual artist based in Dhi Qar Governorate, Iraq. He is known for his work in portraiture and figurative realism.
Early life and education
Al-Sarray was born on 28 April 2002 in Dhi Qar Governorate, Iraq. He developed an interest in drawing from an early age and later studied visual arts at the Institute of Fine Arts in Diwaniyah.
Career
Al-Sarray's artistic practice focuses on portrait painting and realist painting, with an emphasis on expressive depiction of the human face. He works primarily with oil on canvas and frequently uses a palette knife.
His work has been covered by several Iraqi and Arab media outlets. The Iraqi newspaper Al-Sabah covered his artistic activity in its cultural pages.[1]
Azzaman – Iraq edition published an article titled "أعمال السراي تحوّل الوجه الإنساني إلى مرآة للقلق المعاصر", discussing how his portraits transform the human face into a mirror of contemporary anxiety.[2]
