Alejandro Colucci (Montevideo, 1966) is an uruguayan illustrator and cover artist.
Biography
Born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1966 to a family of Italian immigrants, he started his career in 1990 working as an illustrator and graphic designer in several publishing agencies and other print media in his hometown.[1]
Colucci has been based in Europe since 2002 working as a freelance artist and his work has been included in several media and in books from some of the largest editorials worldwide. His art style is focused on medieval and gothic fantasy designs and illustrations.
Some of his most prominent work includes the illustrations and book covers for "The Witcher" literary series by Andrej Sapkowski, which has seen use in Spanish publications as well as the first British editions released.[2] Others include books from Anne Rice, Robin Hobb, Tom Wolfe, C. S. Lewis, H. G. Wells, Clive Barker, among others.
Aside from book illustrations, his work can also be seen in the Tarot deck from Italian publisher Lo Sacarabeo, as well as card designs and other material for the tabletop game Vampire: The Masquerade.
In 2009 he created, alongside his partner, their graphic design studio named Epica Prima.[1]
He has been based in London since 2012.[3]
