Alexandre Camacho is a Portuguese rally driver from Madeira, Portugal. He is the most successful driver in the history of the Rali Vinho Madeira, having won the event a record six times between 2017 and 2023.[1]

Career

Camacho has competed extensively in Portuguese rallying, particularly on asphalt events. As a native of Madeira, he has become closely associated with the Rali Vinho Madeira, one of Portugal's oldest and most prestigious rally events.

He claimed his first overall victory in the event in 2017, driving a Peugeot 208 T16 R5. He successfully defended his title in 2018 and 2019 before adding further victories in 2021, 2022 and 2023, all with co-driver Pedro Calado in a Škoda Fabia Rally2 Evo.[2]

His victory in the 2023 edition made him the first driver to win the event six times, extending his record as the rally's most successful competitor.[3]

Legacy

Camacho is regarded as the most successful driver in the history of the Rali Vinho Madeira, with six overall victories. His record surpassed the previous benchmark held jointly by several multiple winners of the event.[4]
