Anne Boston is a musician from Norfolk, England and started releasing music in 2021 whilst studying at college. Writing and producing their own work, Anne creates in a range of musical genres with a focus on Rock and Alternative.
Covering topics close to home, Anne hopes to inpsire others to talk about difficult topics, be their true selves and spread joy and hope, creating a musical sanctuary for those who listen. Boston believes that it's impoartnt to write from the heart and create music that's true to yourself.
Life
Born on the 13th December 2003, Anne Boston was raised and lives in the English county of Norfolk in the UK.
As a child, Anne grew up around music in many forms and genres. From falling in love with Disney films and sountracks from a young age, to karaoke in the car with their mum, to playing piano with their grandad, Anne fell in love with music and a wide array of genres.
As they grew up, Anne refined their music taste around the end of primary school and into high school, finding themself indulged in artists like Melanie Martinez, Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy, Set It Off, and Bring Me The Horizon, just to name a few. The genres that Boston has referenced to listen to most are Metal, Rock, and Punk but there exceptions as they also enjoy Musical Theatre (for example).
After leaving highschool, Anne went to Access Creative College, a specilist creative college, to study a Level 3 Music Performance on a two year course. It's there where Anne discovered a way to include music in a more serious way in their future, with the course helping to provide industry standard facilities and software. At Access, their first single was created and recorded with the help of peers and tutor feedback. For a brief time in college, Anne was a part of a band with a couple of their classmates which they called 'Jumpstart' after the trio's combined love for cars. Jumpstart would do one live peformance as a part of the course criteria of the song "Help" by Papa Roach and even be interviewed for local radio, the band unfortunately didn't live past the second year at college.
Since leaving college, Boston has been less focussed on music and put more attention into their art and small business, Panic At The Artspace, where they would attend an extra year of college for in 2022/23 and study at Norwich University of the Arts for a three year Bachelor of the Arts degree course in Illustration from 2023 - 2026. Though not the main focus, Anne still worked on music on the sidelines when not creating for college, university or their business. It is in this time period they wrote, produced and released their latest single "Naivety" alongside producing two songs with the artist SubiFae for the songs "Wheel Of Death" and "Ghostpipe".
Discography
Anne has released four singles as of April 2026, each one being distributed through Ditto, a music distribution company. Each song is written and produced by themselves from their home studio using a mix of Bandlab and Logic Pro X for the DAW programs, also utalising their MIDI instruments to help create each song.
Singles
"Forgive Your Betrayal" was Anne Boston's first single to be release, becoming available on all major music platforms on the 13th August 2021.
The song was created, originally, as a part of a college project/submission were the task was to rip up a piece of text and write a part of a song using the words rearranged. This task would lead to the creation of the song's chorus, with the outcome of the task reading: "Child, consequences will not play with us. We still lose. Know you choose to live. Forgive your betrayal. We still love you."
Boston has expressed not being 100% happy with the song a year after its release in an online video posted in the summer of 2022 just before the release of their second single
Anne's second single release, "I Miss You" is a raw song without heavy production, their first ever accoustic release. The song was released to the world on the 20th May, only three weeks after recording.
Boston's first accoustic song, it was created amongst their first big heartbreak using an unplugged accoustic-electric guitar and recorded vocals seperately. The song talks about the despiration and pain that goes along with the end of your first serious relationship as a young adult, the feeling of missing your ex-partner's warmth and regretting anything that may have happened that led to the seperation.
The song wasn't pre-written before the recording session, but instead sung on the spot, allowing Anne to be raw with their emotions and feelings, creating the lyrics with the flow of raw emotions.
"Daisy" was Boston's third release, and last release before an almost three year break from music, being available to stream, buy and download on the 3rd June 2022, just under a year after the first single's release.
The single was created around the same time as "I Miss You", using song to express themself and feelings, a common thing to do among songwriters after a major event in their lives. The song ties into the children's game of picking petals off of a daisy to find out your fate ("He loves me. He loves me not.") and how someone facing heartbreak might use this as a way to get clarity from the universe about the fate of their relationship.
A gentler sound compared to the previous release, "Daisy" is the audience's first tast of Anne's diversity when it comes to music creation and sound.
On the 3rd January 2025, Anne released their latest single "Naivety" to the world. This single was the product of an almost three year hiatus, being a song that was worked on in the summer of 2024 as a way to reduct artist block whilst at university for an art degree.
"Naivety" is a song written about being taken advantage of in situations or being left out because of one's naivety. A cycle of broken trust and betrayal being lived through, the song creates a journey of learning from past mistakes and break free from the neverending cycle of pain. Highlighting the importance of self love and care, protecting your peace and not letting others take atvantage of you for your kidness.
The single teases a return to the more Rock and Alternative sound that was last seen in their first single release back in 2021 with "Forgive Your Betrayal".
EPs and Albums
So far, Anne Boston has only released singles, but, in an Instagram Q and A at the end of March 2026, they were asked about future releases. One annoymous user asked; "Are you working on any new music?" In response to this question Anne responded; "Yes! I've got several songs in the works that I'll be focusing on in the Summer. Some fully produced by me and a couple of instrumentals I've purchased the rights to use for"
Another user asked; "What can we expect this year?" Anne responded with a list/plan that included; "Release a new single." and "Hope to release a 5 track EP." With EP referring to an 'Extended Play'.
Producing
With knowledge gained from their Music Performance diploma from college, Anne not only produces their own music but has also started to produce for other artists too.
SubiFae
The first, and only current, artist Anne has worked with and Produced for is SubiFae, a alternative artist from Ohio, USA. Connecting through TikTok initially, Anne and Subi became good friends and began working on music together as Subi wanted to kickstart their music career and release their own music in 2024. This led to the two creating two songs together for SubiFae which released in 2024 and 2025 before Subi formed a band with a new producer, making the music process easier for Subi as they lived near each other in contrast to the 5 hour time difference between Subi and Anne. Though Boston has expressed interest in working with SubiFae again in the afformentioned March 2026 Q and A on instagram, where they were asked; "Is there any artists you'd love to work/collab with?" To which Anne responded with; "I'd love to work with @yourfoxqueen (SubiFae) again!"
The first single the two worked on and created was "Wheel Of Death". This was released by SubiFae on the 13th September 2024 and stands as Subi's first single.
During the release roll-out of the song, Anne shared a behind the scenes look at the single, which revealed their way of working to their followers and how the two created the song despite a 5 hour time difference. The song was created in Anne's Logic Pro X program with constant check ins with Subi to make sure the song was sounding how they wanted it to. When the instrumentals were finished, Anne exported them into Bandlab where SubiFae was able to record vocals onto the track with effects that Anne pre-programed into the file. When compiled together, the song was completed and sent to Subi to distribute.
Anne also created the cover art for the single, using the SubiFae logo and themes of the song and creating it in the Procreate program.
The next single that Anne produced for SubiFae was "Ghostpipe" which was released on the 28th March 2025.
The song's creation process worked the same as it was for "Wheel Of Death". This time, the song had a lighter and etherial feel to it, contrasting with the twisted circus aesthetic of "Wheel Of Death". SubiFae was inspired to write the song after seeing a video on TikTok of a woman coming across ghostpipe flowers in the woods and telling the stories behind them. Subi, commenting on how it felt like the universe called them to the video to inspire them creatively for the new song.
Once again, Anne created the single cover artwork with the help of Subi taking a portrait for it.
When SubiFae formed the band and created the EP "...From Ohio, With Love", "Wheel Of Death" got a remaster with a makeover that matched the era for the musician, making it a darker and grungier sound. Though Anne didn't work directly on this remaster, they are still featured in the credits for the original song and changes they made to the structer during the original production.
